About the Course

15 hours of tuition per week with a project-based approach: students work on real-world projects designed to develop their English. All course books provided; end-of-course certificate and report; experienced, accredited teaching staff.

What’s Included

All programmes include tuition, course books, shared-room accommodation (residential or host) with full board, the full activity programme, Saturday excursions and certificate. Not included: transfers, insurance, flights. Extras: Dublin shared transfer €110 each way, host summer supplement €60/week, dietary supplements.

Accommodation

Three DELS-owned residential properties: Surfers Bay (21 bedrooms, up to 48 students in shared rooms, gender-separated floors, games room, organic garden, activity dome, 24/7 coordinators) and Portbeg Houses on the coast (8–11 students per house with a live-in coordinator). Host family option: all hosts live within 20 minutes of the school; breakfast and dinner with the host, lunch in the canteen; host bus home in the evenings.

Meal Plan

Full board with freshly prepared, locally sourced produce: fresh warm lunch and dinner daily in the canteen on a two-week rotating menu; specific dietary requirements catered for (supplements apply for coeliac/vegan).

Activities & Excursions

Five daily activities Monday–Friday, five evening activities (two if staying with a host family) and a full-day excursion every Saturday. Programmes: surfing, horse riding on the beach, kayaking, Irish sports, culture, crafts and hiking. Weekly photos by the DELS photographer.

Donegal English Language School (DELS) is a family-owned school established in 1989 in Bundoran, Co. Donegal — the surf capital of Ireland on the Wild Atlantic Way. Set in a Georgian building overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, DELS runs junior summer programmes (ages 12–17) combining 15 hours of English tuition per week with surfing, horse riding and multi-activity adventures, residential or host family accommodation with full board, evening activities and Saturday full-day excursions. Yes. Students are never unaccompanied: residences are managed and monitored by coordinators 24/7, host families are vetted and live within 20 minutes of the school, and the daily schedule runs from 8am to 9pm with a dedicated coordinator team.

Fees include 15 hours of weekly tuition, course books, shared-room accommodation (residential or host family) with full board, five daily and five evening activities, Saturday full-day excursions, weekly photos and an end-of-course certificate and report. Transfers, insurance and flights are not included.

Special dietary requirements are catered for (coeliac €45, vegan/lactose-free €20 per week). Students should bring medical/travel insurance; the coordinator team supports students throughout and parents are contacted if any issue arises.

The junior programme is for ages 12–17, from 14 June to 23 August 2026, with Sunday arrivals and departures and stays of 1–4 weeks. Programmes can be mixed (one activity per week) for a €80 supplement.
