About

About the Course

This programme is designed specifically for families with younger children aged 5–11, giving parents and kids an opportunity to start or improve their English together in a calm environment. The focus is on building confidence through age-appropriate lessons and shared experiences, combining language learning with gentle exploration of London and nearby cities. The course offers 20 lessons (about 16.7 hours) of English per week, with children studying at the beautiful Highgate Library and parents at the nearby St Giles Highgate school. Lessons follow a general English syllabus with small classes, using interactive, communicative methods to develop speaking, listening and everyday vocabulary for both adults and children.

What’s Included

The full package includes 20 morning lessons per week, three afternoon activities and one full-day excursion per week, as well as light weekday lunches and homestay accommodation in twin rooms with breakfast. Families can also arrange hotel accommodation instead of homestay and may add extra services or excursions upon request.

Accommodation

Accommodation is offered in carefully selected local homestays in Highgate and nearby areas, as well as hotel options for families who prefer more independence and comfort. All options are chosen to provide a welcoming, safe base within easy reach of the school and activity meeting points.

Meal Plan

Families receive breakfast every day and light lunches on weekdays at the school, simplifying mealtimes during course days. Evening meals and weekend lunches are not included. Special dietary requirements can be arranged on request for an additional fee.

Activities & Excursions

The activity and excursion programme includes three half-day activities and one full-day excursion per week, with options such as guided London sightseeing, museums, boat trips, soft play centres, petting zoos and visits to cities like Brighton, Cambridge or Oxford. Activities are designed for parents and children to enjoy together, giving plenty of opportunities to practise English in informal, fun situations.

Facilities

Facilities available to families include the well-equipped St Giles Highgate school with modern classrooms, interactive whiteboards, a self-access study centre, student café, bookshop and free Wi‑Fi, as well as the nearby Highgate Library used for children’s lessons. The green surroundings, school garden and easy access to local parks support a comfortable learning environment away from the noise of central London.

Camp Experience

St Giles London Highgate is part of a long-established English language organisation with many years of experience in running junior and family programmes. Qualified teachers, small classes, close supervision ratios and a calm suburban setting create a friendly atmosphere where young children and their parents can feel secure, make international friends and make steady progress in English.

Hello I’m Christopher from Taiwan 🇹🇼 I had studied at this school for half a year I really love everything in the school Rachel, Anna, and Susana were especially important to me — they not only helped me greatly with my English, but also provided emotional support during my time at the school!!🥰 And my first teacher Darren! He is a nice teacher 👍 I’m truly grateful to all the staff, teachers, and classmates here for giving me such beautiful memories that I will always treasure. I’ll be back — see you soon!”😆

I visited in January, and that school is definitely one of the things I'll miss the most from my trip! The building is welcoming, and the staff are super kind and nice! Tony and Anna were amazing teachers! I hope to study there again someday. 😁

I spent a month at St Giles Highgate and it was just amazing. The teachers as well as the administration are really top ! The school is very well located, in a residential area, only 15 minutes away from the center. Moreover, the afternoon activities are varied and very useful for meeting people from all over the world !! I feel I've really progressed, thank you very much!

I spend two weeks there this summer and it was amazing. I met a lot of friendly people, the classes were creative and the teachers really nice. The area is quite nice too, very natural and an old-fashioned but classy building.

It was an great experience, back in August, 2015. I went to this school for about three weeks to improve my english skills, I've learned a lot, thanks to a brilliant teacher, sadly I don't remember his name anymore.. And I had really nice schoolmates, we would hang out some time and had a lot of fun together ! The inside of the building is huge, bright and well arranged. The garden was very clean, it was a pleasure beeing outside for lunch. The food was pretty good by the way ! The time I've spent there is probably part of the best moments I've had in my life, thanks a lot for that, I miss it a lot !
