About

About the Course

The program provides an intensive German language course consisting of 30 lessons each week, taking place from Monday to Friday in small groups that typically have around 11 students. Designed specifically for young learners, the course material covers every level from complete beginner to proficient. The teaching approach stresses active involvement and a large amount of speaking practice through diverse and stimulating class formats, making sure that learners build all fundamental language abilities — listening, reading, speaking, and writing — in an energetic and encouraging learning setting.

What’s Included

The basic price consists of a complete package that includes everything. This includes 30 German lessons per week, all learning materials, lodging in modern rooms shared by two, full board (three meals a day), a daily schedule of activities, weekly trips with admission fees covered, round‑the‑clock supervision, laundry service, and a certificate. An optional add‑on is airport transfer to and from Vienna Airport (VIE) for an extra charge, as well as an additional fee for the unaccompanied minor service (if needed). A complimentary pickup service is available from Vienna's central train station (Wien Hauptbahnhof).

Accommodation

Students stay in Vienna's most modern youth hostel, the Jugendgästehaus Wien-Brigittenau, which serves as a full residential campus. Accommodation is in bright, modern twin rooms, each with a private en-suite bathroom. Roommates are carefully matched to be of similar age and German level but with different native languages to encourage constant German practice. Boys and girls are housed separately. The guest house offers free WiFi and is located in a quiet, safe area, with 24-hour supervision ensuring a secure and comfortable environment.

Meal Plan

The program operates on a full-board basis, providing three meals per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). Any specific dietary needs are advised to be communicated during the registration process.

Activities & Excursions

The required daily leisure schedule is varied and aims to provide enjoyment, cultural exposure, and a sense of group connection. Activities held on site or locally include sports such as football and swimming, creative workshops (crafts), games (billiards, board games, foosball), and unique Viennese experiences like trips to the famous Prater amusement park. The schedule features weekly half‑day trips (on Wednesday) and full‑day trips (on Saturday) to major sights such as Schönbrunn Palace and thorough exploration of Vienna's museums, parks, and historic city center.

Facilities

The course center is the modern Jugendgästehaus Wien-Brigittenau. On-site facilities include attractive, bright, and some air-conditioned seminar rooms for lessons, and spaces for activities. The nearby Danube Island serves as a vast natural recreational area for sports and relaxation, and the entire city of Vienna—with its parks, museums, and historic infrastructure—becomes an extended campus for exploration and learning.

Camp Experience

This program is provided by the Humboldt-Institut, an organization with many years of experience in immersive language teaching, offering its first and only course in Austria. Certified instructors specialize in teaching teenagers, applying a well‑established curriculum focused on active speaking and involvement. The mix of intensive learning in a modern, secure residence, a required and diverse social and excursion program in one of the world's most culturally rich capitals, and round‑the‑clock oversight creates a uniquely encouraging and engaging international atmosphere. This comprehensive approach is intended to guarantee fast language improvement and a memorable summer experience immersed in the charming Viennese dialect and culture.

If I wanted to scrub toilets, I would have stayed home !!! If you’re looking to pay for a hotel room just to clean it yourself, look no further! The first room came with a lovely 'brown souvenir' in the toilet from the previous guests. The receptionist tried to fix this biohazard with... a box of chocolates. Because clearly, chocolate sanitizes bathrooms, right? They moved us to a new room which was just as filthy. I literally had to go out and buy my own cleaning supplies just to make the place habitable. Next time, I’ll send you an invoice for my cleaning services. An absolute joke of a place.

  • Daria Suspitsina

Everything was pretty clean, the stuff is friendly, the food is fresh and the place itself is great for the money we paid comparable to the Vienna rent prices, I was a little bit afraid after I saw the Google Maps rating, but gladly didn't face any of the problems some people wrote about My main complain was mainly about the socket too far away from the bed 😄 There are USB-A types of connectors near, but unfortunately we had only USB-C with us, so take it in consideration if it's important for you. The light in the personal toilet should be replaced probably, and would be nice to have at least a small bottle of shampoo. The location is pretty far from the center, BUT it's close to the tram station that we used all the time, so not a big deal as well

  • Yazen Mohammed

I got a private hostel very nice and cozy. If you want to go the center there is a tram close to it. There is no soap for the shower but there is for washing your hands, so bear that in mind. The rooms were clean and the staff members gave us all the info and were nice and helpful

  • Lilit Arzumanian

Very happy with our stay. Great value for the money. The room was spacious, great bathroom, comfy beds. The location was superb, too, we were a 15 minute tram ride away from the city center.

  • Taciana Couchinho

For the price, the location was good and the rooms were cleaned. The staff was not the friendliest. And on the checkout day it was like 09h15 and someone just entered the room without even knocking first
