About

About the Course

New Forest Adventure Camp is not an academic course. The focus is on experiential learning through adventure activities, team challenges, and real‑world communication. English is spoken throughout camp, with native English‑speaking staff providing authentic language exposure. Students mix with local children to practise English naturally. Support is available for all levels, from beginner to advanced, and multilingual staff can assist with any concerns. There are no formal English lessons; instead, language skills develop through participation, teamwork, and daily interaction.

What’s Included

The base price includes all activities, accommodation, all meals and snacks, and excursions. A deposit secures a place, with the remaining balance invoiced 12 weeks before camp and due 8 weeks before the start date. Payment plans are available on request. Not included: pocket money (recommended £50‑100 for souvenirs or extra snacks), personal clothing and equipment, travel insurance, flights, and airport transfers (unless booked as an optional add‑on). For international students, bedding is provided. For UK campers, bedding is not automatically provided; they should bring their own or request it.

Accommodation

Campers stay in comfortable dormitory‑style accommodation in one of three residential buildings on site: The Lodge, The Barn, or The Coach House. Rooms feature bunk beds or single beds, accommodating 3‑14 people per room, with separate rooms for boys and girls. Shared communal spaces are available for socialising. Staff sleep on the same floor, with night duty checks, alarmed doors, and CCTV for safety. A laundry service is provided twice per week. Towels are not provided unless requested. Bedding is supplied for international students; UK campers should bring their own or ask in advance.

Meal Plan

Full board is included: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks. Meals are balanced and tasty – examples include BBQs, pasta, sandwiches, salads, fish and chips, and fajitas. Snacks such as fresh fruit, yoghurts, and savoury bites are always available. Packed lunches are provided on excursion days. Special dietary requirements and allergies are catered for; please inform the camp when booking. A tuck shop sells chocolate, crisps, sweets, and drinks for extra pocket money spending.

Activities & Excursions

Daily activities include treetop climbing, mountain biking, water park obstacle courses, archery, campfires, raft building, kayaking, canoeing, climbing wall, high ropes, tunnelling, crate stacking, nightline, bushcraft and den building, team games, and sports. Evenings offer team challenges, movie nights, rocket building, talent shows, and other creative or competitive events. A typical day runs from 07:00 to 22:00 with four activity sessions. The camp also includes a half‑day and a full‑day excursion each week to local towns or cities such as Oxford or Bath, where students explore British culture and practise English in real settings.

Facilities

On‑site facilities include a full‑size outdoor basketball court, an outdoor swimming pool (open during summer, supervised), indoor communal areas, a dedicated campfire area, archery range, tunnelling area, nightline course, crate stack zone, climbing wall, high ropes course, woodland for bushcraft, a lake for water activities, and large open fields for team games. There is no WiFi (due to the forest location), but a hotspot is provided for students to contact home during designated phone times. Off‑site excursions use local towns and cities.

Camp Experience

Educamps Adventures is a family‑run business with years of experience. All staff are DBS‑checked, fully trained in first aid and emergency procedures, and led by a Designated Safeguarding Lead. Staff‑to‑child ratios are high: 1:6 for instructor‑led activities (e.g., kayaking, climbing) and 1:10 for low‑risk activities. The camp provides 24/7 supervision and pastoral care. The atmosphere is friendly, inclusive, and focused on building life skills such as teamwork, resilience, problem‑solving, and leadership. International students receive airport transfer support and visa invitation letters if needed. Many campers attend alone and quickly make friends.

There are no academic lessons. Instead, campers take part in four daily activity sessions (morning, midday, afternoon, evening) led by qualified instructors and experienced counsellors. The methodology is hands‑on and experiential: participants learn by doing, with safety briefings before each activity. Groups are small – instructor‑led high‑risk activities (e.g., kayaking, climbing) have a staff‑to‑child ratio of 1:6, while low‑risk activities (e.g., team games) have a ratio of 1:10. No textbooks or formal materials are used; the focus is on developing teamwork, resilience, problem‑solving, and leadership through real‑world challenges. The daily schedule runs from 07:00 to 22:00, with breakfast, four activity blocks, lunch, dinner, and an evening event (e.g., talent show, movie night, rocket building). English is the common language spoken throughout the camp, helping international students practise naturally alongside native‑speaking staff and British campers.
