About the Course

The camp offers a variety of specialist programmes (e.g., language, adventure, sports, science). The approach is practical and immersive, with morning sessions lasting 3 hours each weekday. The methodology varies by programme, ranging from project-based language learning and hands-on science labs to skill-based sports and adventure instruction, all conducted by expert instructors or native-speaking teachers.

What’s Included

The base package includes accommodation in en-suite bedrooms for 3-4 campers, full board (three meals daily), the chosen morning specialty programme, afternoon 'sign-up' activities, all evening events, and scheduled excursions (e.g., Geneva, chocolate factory, Aigle Water Park). An optional Tennis Add-on is available for an additional fee of CHF 650, providing 3 hours of afternoon tennis instruction for certain programmes. Extras include transfers from/to Geneva Airport or Lausanne Train Station (one-way and return options available) and arrival or departure outside the designated dates. All campers are recommended to have some pocket money for snacks and souvenirs. Basic accident / illness insurance can be provided for an additional fee.

Accommodation

Most campers stay at the Swiss Alpine Centre, which features spacious, mainly en-suite bedrooms for 3-4 campers. Leadership Training Camp participants stay at the separate Alpine Classic Hotel. Both are comfortable facilities with dedicated common areas. Experienced counsellors stay in nearby rooms to ensure safety and supervision.

Meal Plan

Three nutritious meals are provided daily, featuring a salad bar at lunch and dinner. Breakfast offers a variety of choices. Most special dietary needs can be accommodated upon prior request and confirmation with the Village Camps Head Office.

Activities & Excursions

Activities include specialized morning programmes (e.g., language, adventure sports, tennis, science). Excursions feature trips to Geneva, Lausanne, a chocolate factory (Maison Cailler), and the Aigle Water Park. Evening activities include campfires, Carnival Night, International Night, movie nights, ice skating, and a farewell dinner.

Facilities

On-site facilities at the Swiss Alpine Centre include classrooms, an auditorium, a music & dance studio, an arts & crafts centre, a climbing wall, common rooms, dining rooms, and a snack bar. Off-site, campers utilize the village of Leysin's extensive facilities, including an indoor pool, multi-sport gymnasium, ice rink, tennis courts, football pitches, and climbing walls, as well as nearby hiking and mountain-biking trails.

Camp Experience

The camp operates under the long-standing Village Camps philosophy. Programmes are led by experienced counsellors (average ratio 1:6) and specialist instructors, including native language teachers and qualified coaches. The atmosphere is international and supportive, with a focus on safety, skill development, and creating a community.
