The programme offers 15 hours of English lessons per week, delivered in small classes with an average size of 18 students to ensure individual attention and active participation. Teaching follows a communicative and interactive methodology that focuses on collaboration through creative projects and review sessions, using English in real-world contexts. Lessons build all core language skills – speaking, listening, reading, and writing – with a strong emphasis on communication, fluency, and confidence. Students are placed into classes according to their English level, which ranges from Elementary (A1) to Proficiency (C2), and the programme can be adjusted to accommodate lower levels if needed.

The curriculum is designed in-house and uses engaging, modern topics that students can relate to, such as reflecting on social media use and artificial intelligence. The new syllabus includes six student books covering levels A1 to C2, with language developed within engaging and real-world contexts. Each lesson provides students with opportunities to reflect on their learning process and develop critical thinking skills while using English. The programme's collaboration with National Geographic Learning ensures access to high-quality, engaging course materials that bring the world into the classroom.

The programme is all-inclusive and covers English language teaching (15 hours per week), course materials, registration fees, a graduation certificate, accommodation with a host family in twin rooms, all meals (breakfast, packed lunch, and dinner), return airport transfers, and all activities, excursions, and entrance fees as per the sample programme. Please note that there may be slight differences in what is included depending on the specific programme and length of stay. For a supplement, students can add an IELTS test to their programme, which is held at the downtown Oxford International English school. This must be confirmed at least six weeks in advance when making the booking. Free Wi-Fi access is included in the accommodation.

Students stay with carefully selected local host families who are chosen according to Canadian government guidelines to ensure a safe and welcoming environment. Accommodation is offered in twin rooms as standard, providing students with the opportunity to share their experience with a peer from a different country. Staying with a host family offers students a unique and authentic experience of Canadian daily life, allowing them to practise their English in a natural setting, connect with the local community, and develop a deeper understanding of maritime Canadian culture. Full board is provided, with breakfast and dinner served by the host family every day. Students also receive a packed lunch to take with them to school or on excursions, ensuring they are well-fed throughout the day. The first meal is dinner on the day of arrival, and the last meal is a packed lunch on the day of departure. Special dietary requirements, such as vegetarian or other preferences, can be accommodated upon request, subject to prior notification during the booking process.

A full and varied activity programme is included, designed to make the most of Halifax's coastal beauty and vibrant city life. Students participate in on-site activities at the school, including social events and team competitions, as well as excursions to explore the city. The standard two-week programme includes ten half-day excursions to iconic attractions such as the Halifax Public Library, the Public Gardens, Citadel Hill, and Chocolate Lake. Full-day excursions are offered on weekends, including a trip to the world-famous Peggy's Cove. Walking tours, visits to museums, and shopping trips provide additional opportunities for cultural immersion, adventure, and fun.
