Summer Adventure Camp
Verano 2026
Mill on the Brue is a week‑long residential summer adventure camp for unaccompanied children aged 8 to 15, located in the Somerset countryside. The main goal is to give every child an enormous amount of fun, help them…
Each day, children take part in at least six instructor‑led activities, ranging from high‑adventure challenges (zip wire, climbing tower, leap of faith, high ropes) to team‑building tasks (raft building, assault course, wide games) and creative or nature‑based sessions (bushcraft, animal feeding, garden to table, crafts). Groups are kept small – approximately 12 children of similar age – ensuring every child receives individual attention and encouragement from their two dedicated instructors. No textbooks or formal materials are used; instead, learning happens through direct experience, risk‑taking in a safe environment, and guided reflection. The weekly programme is carefully structured to balance energetic outdoor challenges, water activities (canoeing, water slide, swimming, raft building), evening entertainments (disco, escape room, campfire gatherings), and quieter skill‑building sessions (archery, axe throwing, orienteering, pizza making). Children are encouraged to try new activities, overcome fears, and work as a team. The oldest group (the “Otters”) also takes part in a special 24‑hour challenge that includes map reading, hiking, bushcraft, abseiling, and paddle boarding.
The camp focuses on building confidence, independence, teamwork, and practical outdoor skills through a screen‑free, fun‑filled adventure programme. At least 6 activity sessions per day, running from Sunday afternoon to Saturday afternoon (6 days).
