À propos

À propos du cours

The programme follows a project‑based, practical approach where learning comes to life through real‑world challenges. Students choose two modules each week – one in the morning and one in the afternoon – with each module providing 15 hours of teaching per week. All modules are taught by passionate Malvern College teachers and carefully selected specialists who adapt every lesson to match each student's level. The English Language module is Quality English accredited and welcomes all levels from beginner to advanced. English is not compulsory for students attending the Summer School. The two‑module structure allows students either to explore two different subjects each week or to develop the same skill further if they wish. Modules run for three hours each day, split across morning and afternoon sessions with a short break in between.

Ce qui est inclus

The all‑inclusive package covers full board accommodation in traditional boarding houses, 30 hours of teaching per week, all meals and snacks, all activities and evening events, Saturday excursions, and airport transfers on official arrival and departure days. A meet and greet service is provided at London Heathrow and Birmingham Airport on official days. Transfers from other airports and for flights outside standard hours can be arranged at additional cost. Support for Unaccompanied Minors is available with additional charges. Parents are also welcome to bring children directly to campus.

Hébergement

Students live in traditional British boarding houses, each with a strong sense of community and care. Accommodation is thoughtfully divided by age and gender for security and belonging. Rooms are comfortable single, twin, or cosy dormitory rooms. Each house has inviting shared common rooms where students relax and build friendships. Experienced Houseparents live alongside students, always available to help and support. Mobile phones are kept safely during lessons and activities and returned each evening, so students can relax and stay in touch with parents from their rooms. In an emergency, parents have direct access to a summer school mobile number, and the team always contacts parents before making any medical decisions on their child's behalf.

Meals are freshly prepared by skilled chefs with exciting variety at every meal – hot dishes, fresh salads, and lighter options to satisfy every taste. The learning process follows an 'Active English' methodology that ensures language acquisition happens throughout the day, not just in the classroom. Mornings focus on core skills including speaking, listening, reading, writing, and academic vocabulary. Afternoons put these skills to the test through 'The Malvern Challenge' – a series of collaborative tasks designed to build confidence. Students practise English naturally through meaningful projects, cultural exploration, and daily interaction with peers from over 20 countries. First-day assessments ensure students learn with classmates at a similar level, while the flexible approach means beginners receive foundational support and advanced speakers are challenged appropriately. Taught by Malvern College's own EAL specialists who understand how international students learn best, every lesson is designed to build confidence alongside competence. The programme welcomes all levels from complete beginners to advanced learners. Students enjoy projects such as interviewing local people in Malvern's charming town centre, creating a brand-new sport and presenting it to classmates, collaborating in groups to research and share ideas in English, and creating brochures and maps to learn about the local area. Students return home thinking and communicating confidently in English, with the ability to use English in real-life situations.

The course is focused on building practical communication skills, fluency, and confidence through project-based learning and real-world cultural experiences in an immersive English-speaking environment.
